For professionals that need a license from a government agency, such as architects, engineers, teachers, etc., you need to present an attestation from the application Italian Authority certifying you possess the requirements created under the Legislative Decree n. 206 of 6 November 2007. 3). A higher professional qualification with proof of a minimum five years of professional experience in the field.
  5. Minimum Income Requirement – The Italian government is expected to set a minimum annual income threshold to ensure applicants can support themselves while living in Italy. You need proof of a legal income of at least three times the minimum necessary to pay healthcare taxes in Italy. As of 2024, the legal minimum income was no less than 24,789 euros per year. Passive income, such as Social Security, rents or stocks are not considered towards this income total. Also, if you come with a spouse the income requirement increases to 34,087 euros per year plus 1,550 euros per each child you bring. 
  6. Employment Contract – contract from your employer that shows a salary equal or exceeds what is required.
  7. Letter from Employer – Letter stating your employer has not been convicted in the past five years of any crimes related to the facilitation of illegal immigration, exploitation of minors for work purposes or the violation of labor laws. 
  8. Health Insurance Coverage – Proof of comprehensive health insurance valid in Italy is required.
  9. Clean Criminal Record – Applicants must provide a criminal background check from their home country.

  3. Provide a lease, rental contract or deed for property in Italy. The document must be in your name and needs to cover the entire duration of your visa.
  4. Provide Proof of Legal Income. Proof includes paystubs, tax return, W2 or three most recent bank statements. The income also needs to come from the same work you plan on doing while living in Italy. Passive income, such as stocks, Social Security, rental income, etc. will not be considered. 
  5. Proof of at least six months work experience in your field. 
  6. Passport that is valid for at least 15 months past your intended date of travel. The passport must also have at least two plank pages. 
  7. Attend an Interview. Some applicants may be required to attend an interview to verify their eligibility.
